My Kindergartener’s teacher is having a birthday this month. My son, who loves using stamps, wanted to make a card. For the last couple of nights we have stamped, colored and die cut. We finally came up with this card.
We used a new stamp and die set from Stamps of Life by Stephanie Bernard along with her ink pads and matching pens. My son loves lots of bright colors, so I pulled out an old paper pack from Bo Bunny “On the Go” to bring out all his colors. He wanted it to look glossy and “painted” so we added Glossy Accents. The banners are cut from an older Sizzix set of birthday dies and stamps, but the sweet little goodies are all part of the Ice cream Truck set.
A couple of details… I used the detail die on the stamped image and layered it to a second one to minimize curling with the glossy accents. Then cut a “shadow” piece of the truck to pull it out from the busy background as well as dimensional tape. The little cloud of exhaust was fussy cut from the paper collection that had airplanes in the clouds.
While the card is not what my picky self would give, my son’s proud expression as he shared it with his older brothers makes it my favorite project yet!

These little drops are a perfect alternative to the enamel dot stickers that are so popular right now. The drops create the same effect as enamel dot stickers while allowing for more options in size and shape. As for colors, I am only limited by what I own as they seem to have a good variety of colors. I just need to learn to wait for it to dry before lifting up my layout. They do dry fairly quick, I just happened to lift up my layout right after I finished applying the last dot. If you look closely they are not perfectly round! …On second thought don’t look closely!
These are super “juicy” ink pads that create crisp stamped lines. I used the yellow aka “banana” on the die cut sun (Silhouette Cameo). The die cut is stamped with an old Technique Tuesday small stamp. the two toned effect gives the die cut sun a little more presences on the page.
