Graphic 45 – Magic Christmas Mini Album walkthrough video

April 6, 2019

I know it is March but I found my Design Team Mini Album I did for my local store, Creative Escapes Los Gatos. I thought I had lost the video with all the computer issue I was expereincing at the end of last year. I hope you can still enjoy still watching it even though we are in spring!

The Graphic 45 Magic Christmas collection is so cute if you have not done your holiday photos. They are filled with these adorable little baby cherubs.

Here are a few product details about the album, I used a 8×8 pre-made chipboard album from Frank Garcia. I can’t recommend these enough, especially if you are just getting started with mini albums. It allows you to focus on page construction without having to worry about binding and covers.

Pocket is 5.25 by 7.25 with a photo mat of 5×7 it all slides under a belly band with gold mirror card accents.

You will also hear me mention Tonic Studios, of course. I used some of their newer papers like the gold mirror card and the gilding flakes. I love the effect of the gilding flakes but I found a separate work space was needed to work with them. By the time I was done my fingers were gold and I had a gilded nose to match. Quite the festive look!

Below is the video and supply list. Thanks for reading and watching, I hope you enjoy it. I alwasy enjoy your comments and questions. Thanks again for reading and watching.

St. Patrick’s Day Shaker Card

March 7, 2019

California is seeing record amounts of rain and snow pack this year. While it is dreary it does make for a beautiful green spring filled with surprises, I have plants and vines from years ago reappearing. All the green outside is inspiring me to create something for St. Patrick’s Day.

I was thinking a shaker would allow me to play with the pretty Prickled Pear Green and Rose Gold (more like old gold) sequins. Along with new heart dies to make confetti and a new shaker set. I was out of luck in finding any St. Patrick’s theme in my stash or local stores, but luckily I found some old Bo Bunny Double Dot in my stash and set to work.

As I sat down to create the shaker, I had forgotten my technique. After dumping a full shaker everywhere on my first attempt, I grabbed another cup of coffee and picked sequins off my dog’s back, she is a great foot warmer. I remebered to make a pile of the filling on the base paper first. Then cover it with the adhesive backed shaker piece followed by layering the piece with the die cut opening on top. To cover the cut edges and mechanics, I cut two larger hearts out of a gold textured paper (a new favorite) and the green mirror card.

Finally with a little experiment in hand lettering tall letters with doodling and making clovers out of hearts topped with black sequins, I was done.

If you are interested, here is my supply list along with resource links:

I would love to see what you are creating for St. Patricks’s Day or Spring so please leave a link in the comments so I can visit. Thank you for checking out my card.

Maple Leaf Shaker Closure

August 30, 2018

Good Morning,

Today I am sharing a quick video of a Maple Leaf Shaker closure I made for a gate-closing mini album.  This is one time where taking longer to finish a project worked out in my favor. I like how the shaker adds a little-unexpected fun but still conveys the fall theme of this album.

The Maple Leaf Shaker was part of my most recent Tonic Studio’s craft kit.  You can read my “fangirl” post here My New Favorite Craft Kit – Tonic Studios

All the product in the video came from the most recent craft kit except for the Mirror card and the Green sequins, those were in the previous month kit. The mirror card goes through the die cutter beautiful capturing every detail a die has to offer without damaging the finish. I did put it through the Sizzix a couple of times just because it is so thick, but it cuts clean. The mirror card is a new way for me to add a little shine to a project without having to break out the glitter.

Below is the quick video!

On a side note, I am still getting over my shyness with being on video and the mechanics of it all.  At least I finally figured out how to not have the tripod in the shot!

Thanks for stopping by and having a look!
