Good Morning,
Today I am sharing a quick mini album using the Doodlebug “Flea Market” Collection. I made six pages (counting front and back) that measure 6 1/2 by 6 1/2. The cover is 6 1/2 by 7 with a magnetic closure. Here are the details:
The Album Cover
One of the nice things about doing mini albums or any interactive project is being able to use both sides of a double-sided paper. The cover is both sides of the “leaves” design paper. The popped -up band is my other favorite paper, the plaid, reversed to bring out the turquoise color.
The flap’s decorative edge is cut using Spellbinders Scalloped Borders Two. To help secure the flap I used a large Basic Grey magnet. Doodlebug’s 12×12 sticker sheets have a variety of sizes, words, and these large “title” (my term for it) stickers. To keep the title from sticking to the band, I used some powder. To finish the flap I used the “border” paper with acorns.
Page One
The book opens to the beautiful bright green camper paper with a 4×4 camper from the cut apart sheet. The 4×4 piece is a flap that opens, to reveal a photo spot on the backside. I left the base page plain as this is a small album with limited picture space. A 4×6 picture would fit nicely, or a couple of 3×4 can work too.
Page Two and Three
Page two depicts my inspiration for this album. I decided to go with one of the smaller themes of travel. The base paper is the colorful, cute suitcase paper. Using their “Gingham and Linen” brown paper to make a pocket base for my favorite truck. The one in the “odds and ends” pack was the perfect size for the pocket. I filled the bed with a suitcase and pumpkins, if you are going to travel the countryside in fall, why wouldn’t you stop to get pumpkins? The pocket has three photo mats (5 1/4 by 3 3/4) perfect for 5×3 photos or details of the trip.
Page Three
These tags were originally on the 4×4 cut apart sheet. To add a little variety and interest, I made each its own hinge, then cut them into tags. The backside is perfect for a small picture and journaling. I used some of the border stickers on the 12×12 sheet to finish the back.
Page Four
I made a pocket page to extend photo or journaling options. Making the pocket the with the “suitcase” paper, I did some fussy cutting to define and add a decorative border.
The 4×6 “You are my world” is a perfect match to create a photo folder on the inside as well as the back. Behind the folder is a large space for more pictures. In the corner is a sticker flower with a matte enamel dot for the center.
Page 5 and 6
Page five has a little bit of a twist to it. Again the 4×6 cut apart sheet with the truck is used to create a picture folder by lifting it up. Then it can be flipped down to reveal the white photo mat as well as more spaces for photos all along the base of the page. I would recommend magnets on multiple flips such as this one. Two sets of magnets are needed. One set for the “flip up, the second set for the base page and the back of the folder. This will help keep the page from popping open revealing your second flip as wells as keeping the large photo mat from falling out.
Page 6
This last page has a few options for photos by creating a double pocket as well as a hidden flip. I created two pull out photo/journaling folders. The first is using another 4×4 cut apart with the typewriter. The second one in the back with the trailer opens up but has a smaller flap to add journaling.
Once the photo folders are removed the pocket flips up to reveal two more spaces for photos along with a “say cheese” border.

On the inside flap itself, I thought this was a good place to put this cute 4×6 card titled “Random Facts.” I used it as a way to highlight his current interests, inside jokes with us and facts about him at this moment in time. To give it some interest and personality, I thought it would be fun to use two of the smaller alphabet fonts included in the kit along with some of the image stickers.
