Thank you gift bag

January 11, 2018

Happy 2018!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a safe but fun new year’s celebration.  We, unfortunately, spent most of it sick with this nasty flu that is going around. On the bright side, we did get to spend time together over kleenex boxes and between coughs. That is odd you might say, but as a Mom with teenagers, I take what I can get with them. 🙂

In between, being sick and trying to finish the craft room move (so overwhelming) I did this design team project for the challenge site http://giveacrafteracookie.blogspot.com. Deanne offers challenges based on these yummy decorated cookie pictures she finds on Pinterest. Participants in the challenge can make a card, project, scrapbook page, etc. inspired by the cookie decorations, this first one of the year is kicking off today with a “Thank You” theme.

I decided to do a “thank you” bag using my cameo and some older Bo Bunny that I thought went well with these inspiration cookies. Dt crafter a cookie - thank you2

I found this  Scallop Favor Bag Design #143525 in the Silhouette Design Store. It has all the pieces you see here, making it a matter of picking your paper and deciding your message on the tag. The bag base comes together in one piece and has pre-cut slots for the handles.

The seams are on the side and come together with some folding to which I advise using your strongest adhesive if using a heavyweight paper. (I define heavyweight anything over 65 lb )  I used a liquid adhesive, simply because lining up things takes me a couple tries otherwise I would have used a Scor tape or the red line tape.  The base comes together rather quickly.

The tag layers in the center are all part of the cut file, I choose from Bo Bunny’s Double Dot paper line. Then stamped the “thank you” with one I had from Stephanie Bernard in her Avocado green. You could use your fonts in the Cameo to cut a word as well.

One of the embellishments was the red scallop border piece. It is actually meant to go on the handles, but I felt I needed to pull a little more red out of the design paper. This is one of the reasons I like this cut file as it has so many options to make it your own.

I hope you will check out the challenge at http://giveacrafteracookie.blogspot.com. and join us.

Here is my supply list:

  • Bo Bunny Alora Collection
  • Bo Bunny Double Dot Papers in powder blue, teal, and poppy
  • PPA (Perfect Paper Adhesive) Matte Adhesive
  • Stephanie Bernard Avocado ink

Until next time…

December Daily

November 21, 2017

Good Morning,

Today I have my first December Daily ever to share even though it is stuck in a time warp. I originally bought all these supplies two years ago to do some kind of December documenting. However, I had succumbed to the inequitable equation of time vs. all the projects I want to get done!   This year I was inspired by taking the Simple Stories class for this year’s December Daily album using the pretty ” Very Mery Collection” to then complete this one meant for 2015. Do I get bonus points for getting it done and posted on Black Friday? Well, at least a cookie!

I had taken quite a few pictures of the album, so I put them together in this little video to make it easier to see things. SOOOOOOO………Without further ado here is my Simple Stories “Santa Claus & Co.” December “Daily” album ready to be filled with Christmas past. (While you look at that I need to go hunt for my journaling from that year.)

Videos are still a work in progress. Hopefully, it was enjoyable.
I am always appreciative of the visit!
Until next time…….

Shopping Sales and Deal Sites, Oh My!

November 8, 2017

Good morning,

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you probably already know this but, I have been shopping lately, a lot! I can’t help it, my local scrapbook store had a fantastic sale last weekend, including 50% off Graphic 45.  Yes, I know, 50% off the new lines too, so I went a little crazy! In addition, I added to my Nuvo Collections of ”Pure Sheen” (fine glitter) and Nuvo “Glimmer” (glitter paste in a jar).  To my defense though I am still replenishing from when my little one decided to decorate the floor with my entire glitter and embossing stash!

At the same time, Blisy.com has amazing sales going on this month!  Their stamping sale last week was amazing with things up to 80% off. I challenged myself to look at things that were under $7.00. I am not a big stamper or embosser, but I am working on it.  I thought by limiting myself I wouldn’t have the selection so I would be safe. WRONG!  I ended up with 14 items from embossing folders to mini distress inks to stamps sets, including shipping around $30.00. Here is a sampling:

I was surprised by how much I loved the Frayed Burlap color, that is going look great on beach themes and all my guy layouts! The brick embossing folder is perfect for some Christmas projects I was thinking of adding a chimney! Time Holtz nailed the brick color perfectly!

Then if you saw yesterday’s post on the hot cocoa card, then you know my monthly stamp set came in. I guess I am having a little bit of an early Christmas, now if only I could get the new Silhouette Cameo 3 for under $10.00 then there would be some celebrating!

I think what kicked this whole thing off was some great deals on Peachy Cheap.com daily doorbuster quality deals. Now they are doing one for planners but since it can be used for cardmaking or scrapbooking it is like getting two deal a day!

Finally, if you ever want more of a collection that is older or maybe you are like me and only find bits and pieces when it is too late. The first place I look is Scrapbooking-for-Less.com. I filled in “Life in Color” by Simple Stories. I find past collections at great deals including Simple Stories, Graphic 45, Echo Park, Carta Bella, Bella Blvd to name a few!

Anyway,  I hope you are able to pick up some things off your wish list to finish up your Autumn and Holiday projects! Know this is a safe place to share, no judgment! If you have a great place to share, please tell about it in comments!

…Until next time

A little Bro Time at the Pumpkin Patch

October 1, 2017

I am sorry to be away for so long! School stated with so many demands that my time to create has been non-existent. I miss being able to share and visit all of your projects and sites.  I will be around soon to check what all  of you are doing.

But for now let’s get into this layout…..

I used an older Authentique Collection called Moonlit for all the papers. I love the little 3×4 cut aparts in this collection. The brighter colors pop with the papers. The little boy was too cute to pass up!

Pumpkin patch 2016

The spider web was a little flat so I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in black to give it dimension and shine.   Then finished the picture with some twine and Tim Holtz little halloween metal tags.

Look forward to seeing everyone’s posts about this years pumpkin patch visits and Fall decorations.  Let me know what you think in comments!

Until next time…
