Lemonade card

Good morning,

Today I have a quick post featuring a new stamp set and a tip.

I was recently at the Stamping and Scrapbook Expo and picked up some new stamps.  I am a huge fan of Stephanie Barnard, in fact even did the gushing fan thing the first time I met here. UUGGHH!

Anyways, there is always so much to choose from in her booth, it’s hard not to go crazy. One of the things I couldn’t resist was two new stamp sets for lemonade and a die set to match.  I have a son who is our resident lemonade expert. In fact, he has perfected his recipe so well he can have a glass of lemony goodness in your hands in just minutes.    I have been wanting to do a scrapbook page documenting his talent.  But, I have been struggling to find just the right lemonade embellishments, nothing seems to fit just right. However,  I think I may have found just the right stamps.

I practiced with this card.   I think the height of the glass along with all the other details that go with it aka the lemon wedge and straw, will hold up beautifully as a scrapbook page embellishment. Which brings me to a tip I learned while in Stephanie’s booth I thought would be helpful to share.

Use vellum for ice cubes or water. I did it on the ice cubes in the glass and I love the semi transparent look.  The vellum went through my sizzix beautifully and handles the memento ink without smearing.

cards-3For the inside of the card I used another stamp from the set, perfect for borders.  The color is filled in using my Copic markers.

If your interested this card was made using both her stamp sets called “Lemonade 2 drink” and “More lemonade 2 stamp” along with the lemonade die set. You can find her and her designs at thestampsoflife.com

Thanks for looking.

Until next time…..

P.S. I am not affiliated with Stephanie Barnard or her company I just love her designs, stamp quality and dies.
